September 2026 – "Small Performances: Baskerville Revival" Typeface Launch and Tote Bags design collaboration
Last week I had the pleasure of seeing my design work for the Baskerville Punches project photographed by my great colleague Mark Box, ahead of the "Small Performances: Baskerville Revival Typeface Launch" on 9 September happening at the University of Cambridge.
I designed the Baskerville Punches tote bag as a visual response to the tools, processes and craftsmanship behind the research into John Baskerville’s typefaces.
The aim was to translate this material history into a contemporary, functional object while retaining a connection to the project’s story. It was great to see it printed alongside the Baskerville Punch booklet, designed by Riccardo Olocco and Michele Patanè.
Projects like this are a great example of how design can bridge cultural heritage photography, research and visual communication, transforming archival knowledge into something tangible and engaging.
Thank you to Mark for capturing the work so beautifully, and congratulations to Riccardo and Michele on the project!
